The 2021 NASCAR Season is preparing to get underway officially with the Daytona 500. Leading up to this Sunday’s season opener is Daytona Speedweeks. It began with the exhibition race dubbed the Busch Clash at Daytona.
There were 21 drivers that qualified to race in the Busch Clash at Daytona. It was held on the road course at Daytona International Speedway last night (2/9).
The 35 lap race appeared to be coming down to a last lap battle between defending 2020 NASCAR Cup Series Champion Chase Elliott and Ryan Blaney. The two young NASCAR stars are good friends off the track. However, if you judged their relationship from just the last lap of the race you would think they did not like each other.
The two drivers raced bumper to bumper and even side by side throughout the final lap of the Busch Clash at Daytona. Coming through the final turns of the lap the two came together causing Ryan to spin and slowing Chase down. That allowed Kyle Busch to rocket from third place to the win.

Next up is Daytona 500 qualifying tonight (2/10) to determine the pole position and the second place starting position for the big race.
Thursday night (2/11) will be the Bluegreen Vacations Duels at Daytona to determine the rest of the line-up for Sunday’s race.
Sunday, February 14th will be the race considered to be the “Super Bowl” of NASCAR racing. It is also called “The Great American Race.” The Daytona 500 will take place starting at 1:30 PM central time (2:30 PM eastern time).
