Country music singer-songwriter Luke Combs says that his latest #1 song is part of a “trilogy” of love songs about he and his wife Nicole.
Luke shared that his 2018 number one single “Beautiful Crazy” was about his then girlfriend Nicole Hocking. He has also revealed that his latest number one single “Better Together” was inspired by her.
When asked to explain what “Better Together” meant to he and Nicole, Luke responded,
“I wrote this song in Boone probably two years ago, something like that, my buddies Dan Isbell and Randy Montana were up there. “Beautiful Crazy” was already done and out at that time, so I kinda felt like I needed to do another song that was kind of … I guess it’s kind of ended up turning into like a trilogy; “Beautiful Crazy,” and then it’s “Better Together,” and then “Forever After All” and that’s kind of our whole story up to this point in a way. You know, I just wanted her to know that I’m always thinking about her, and there’s always inspiration there. This song just happened to be what we came up with that day.”
We’ll have to wait and see if Luke releases “Forever After All” as a single to complete the trilogy on the radio.
“Better Together” became Luke’s tenth consecutive #1 single. Listen for all of Luke’s chart topping singles on Bloomington-Normal’s #1 Country, B104.
Have you done something in continuing “chapters” to show your love for somebody?
