Gabby Barrett is really looking forward to Wednesday’s (11/11) CMA Awards, when she and pop star Charlie Puth take center stage to perform “I Hope.”
“I’ve never met him in person before, and hopefully it goes well. I’m having a hard time breathing being in the third trimester and [the] baby just crushing your diaphragm, you know, all the good things. And so, I don’t know, but I’m really excited and I think it’s gonna come together really well.”
“I Hope” is Gabby’s debut smash hit. It hit #1 for country radio airplay and has been dominating digitally. After the monumental success of her song, Gabby has been grateful for the downtime she’s had this year to reflect on it all.
“You know, I’ve been able to sit more in the back seat, rather than performing and moving at a thousand miles per hour constantly, which is the normal artist life. So, I’ve been able to let kind of everything that’s going on soak in, which has been really really nice. And I never would’ve expected all of this from this song. So, I just think that the lord has been very gracious to me and I’m just very thankful.”
Gabby is nominated for New Artist of the Year and Single of the Year for her song “I Hope” at this week’s CMA Awards.
Listen for “I Hope” and Gabby Barrett’s second single “The Good One’s” on Bloomington-Normal’s #1 Country, B104.
