Night two of the Blind Auditions for season 19 of The Voice was tonight (10/20). Did Blake Shelton convince any artists to join Team Blake?
The episode began with Taryn Papa taking the stage. The 30-year-old sang Martina McBride‘s song “Anyway.” Her powerful vocals motivated Blake to turn his chair by “Blocking” Kelly Clarkson. Kelly did turn her chair. As often happens with her she did not notice she was “Blocked” while the performance was going on. Gwen Stefani also pressed her button. Gwen did her best to bring Taryn to her team. In the clip that was shared as a preview for the episode you do not see that Taryn does indeed choose to join Team Blake.
36-year-old Aaron Scott rocked The Voice with his rendition of Fuel’s “Hemorrhage (In My Hands).” John Legend presses his button pretty early in the performance. Blake presses his button about two-thirds of the way through the performance. In my opinion, neither of the two coaches was a clear-cut pick for Aaron. John and Blake made their pitches and waited for the decision. Aaron decided to go with Blake as his coach.
After the first week of The Voice Season 19, Kelly Clarkson holds a slight lead with five artists on Team Kelly. Blake, Gwen and John all end the week with four artists each on their respective teams.
You can see which artists are on the other three teams at the YouTube channel of The Voice here.
The Blind Auditions will continue Monday night, October 26th starting at 7 PM central time (8 PM eastern time) on NBC.
