Last night (10/19) season 19 of The Voice premiered with night one of the Blind Auditions. How did Blake Shelton do for Team Blake?
The look was different with the coach’s chairs a bit further apart. The audience was live, but virtual appearing on a screen behind the coaches from all around the country. I will say I liked the feel of this set-up better than the empty studio with coaches and contestants appearing virtually the way season 18 ended.
30-year-old Ian Flanigan put his rich baritone voice to work on “Colder Weather” by the Zac Brown Band. Blake presses his button and is the only one to do so. That brings a very solid voice to Team Blake.
Jim Ranger is 38 and put his talents to work on a unique version of Keith Urban’s “Blue Ain’t Your Color.” John Legend presses his button first. Gwen Stefani joins John with Blake pressing last. All three coaches give some great pitches to join their team. John even uses a pre-produced, election style video commercial to persuade Jim to join his team. In the end Jim still decided to join Team Blake.
How did the teams end night one of the new season?
Kelly Clarkson did the best ending the night with three members of Team Kelly. Team Blake, Team Gwen and Team Legend all ended the night with two members each.
