Yesterday (9/1) the nominations for the 54th CMA Awards were revealed and Carly Pearce received four nods.

Here nominations included New Artist of the Year, as well as Musical Event, Video and Song of the Year for “I Hope You’re Happy Now.” Carly says it feels like complete recognition for her in a single year.

“I feel like every facet of my artistry being recognized this year. From like being a collaborator with Lee [Brice], to being an artist with New Artist [of the Year], to the visual piece and then for [being a] songwriter. It’s just, I don’t know. I really don’t know how to even put it into words.”

With three of her four nods coming for her collaboration with Lee Brice, it makes that song a pretty big deal for her. She and one of the song’s co-writer Luke Combs were together at the Grand Ole Opry as the nominations were announced. That allowed them to share the special moment together.

“It was obviously a really exciting moment when we got to share that together. I don’t think very many people get to share that together. But he yelled at me across the room when we went to do press, ‘Song of the Year.’ And I’m telling you, as a songwriter, that one hits hard.”

Listen for the multiple CMA nominated song “I Hope You’re Happy Now” by Carly Pearce and Lee Brice on Bloomington-Normal’s #1 Country, B104.
