The 6-year-old hero who saved his little sister from a vicious dog has captured the attention of someone he considers to be an even bigger hero: Mark Ruffalo, who plays the Incredible Hulk.
After reading about how Bridger Walker stood between the charging animal and his sister, suffering multiple bites that required 90 stitches, Ruffalo reached out to the boy with a note of encouragement.
“I just read about what happened to you and I wanted to reach out to say this: People who put the well beings of others in front of themselves are the most heroic and thoughtful people I know,” Ruffalo wrote. “I truly respect and admire your courage and your heart. Real courage isn’t dominating people or fighting against people or walking around like a tough guy. Real courage is knowing what is right to do and doing it even when it might end up hurting you somehow.”
Other celebrities have also praised Bridger for his selfless act of stepping in to protect his sister. The World Boxing Council even made Bridger a WBC Honorary Champion for his brave actions.
Although he clearly doesn’t know how to write for a 6-year-old, how does this letter make you feel about Mark Ruffalo? Who was your hero when you were a kid?
