Today we found out that the legendary Charlie Daniels has passed away. As we remember the iconic legend of country music, here are my top 10 favorite songs from the Charlie Daniels Band.

Growing up, I really loved the country-rock style of music called Southern Fried Rock. It included acts like Hank Williams Jr., Waylon Jennings, Lynyrd Skynyrd and of course the Charlie Daniels Band to name a few. The acts went on to become musical legends and icons.

Charlie was the front-man for the band that bore his name. He was an amazing musician and storyteller. The songs he performed were infused with attitude, passion, heart and soul. He also was unafraid of telling you where he stood on any issue in his music or in person. I believe that is one of many reasons I liked him, his band and his music.

I am not ranking the ten songs below. Any given day I could rank them differently by number. Therefore, I am just saying that to me these are the top 10. You might include some others on your list. I will not argue that you would be wrong. These are just my top 10.

Rest In Peace Charlie Daniels … you will be missed, but never forgotten.
