Move over Netflix and chill, the drive-in movie theater is making its way back into the hearts of many thanks to COVID-19.
With lots of businesses have to close or think of new ways to make money, it seems like the drive-in theater option is drawing in more customers than before.
Businesses across the country are now having to set up shop in a parking lot or park, show your favorite films, and serve up treats from food trucks at a safe distance.
Some theater owners have even stated that they’ve sold out of tickets in under 3 minutes!
Here in central Illinois the Harvest Moon Twin Drive-In Theater is open in Gibson City. Based on posts on their Facebook page things are going well for them. They are following pandemic safety protocols. Find out more at their website here.
Have you been to check out a drive-in movie since the pandemic? Do you think the love for drive-in theaters will stick around?
