Mother’s Day is this Sunday (5/10) and Tim McGraw talks about the moms in his life.
Tim just released a new single today (5/8) titled “I Called Mama.” He shares how his own mother reacted to hearing the single for the first time.
“My mom has gotten better with the phone now, so I got crying emojis. I sent it to her and I said, ‘We’re going to release this single and it’s gonna come out Mother’s Day weekend.’ And then she sent me crying emojis. And I knew better than to call her ’cause I knew what she was doing. I knew she wouldn’t be able to talk at that time, ’cause I know my mom pretty well. I knew exactly what she meant when she sent those emojis, that’s why she didn’t call.”
Tim praises his wife, Faith Hill, as a wonderful mother. He takes comfort in knowing that his three daughters look up to her.
“Having three daughters and having her as their role model … I feel as a dad so fortunate that they can look to her for as a guidepost for their lives as women. And she’s just a special lady and so when she puts her hand on something, it’s almost like it’s hard to not listen to her, for sure.”
Listen for the new Tim McGraw single “I Called Mama” all day today and all Mother’s Day weekend long on Bloomington-Normal’s #1 Country, B104.
To borrow from the title of Tim’s new song … with Mother’s Day being this Sunday, don’t forget to call mama. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms everywhere.
