Blake Shelton has taken his girlfriend Gwen Stefani someplace she has never been … to #1 on the country music chart.
The advance Billboard Country Airplay singles chart for the week shows “Nobody But You” taking over the number one spot.
This gives Gwen just three #1 singles during her career. According to what I could find at Billboard.com, Even featured Gwen on her 2001 chart topping single “Let Me Blow Ya Mind.” Gwen scored a solo number one with “Hollaback Girl” in 2005.
This is very familiar territory for Blake. “Nobody But You” is his 27th career chart topper. The song is on his #1 Gold album Fully Loaded: God’s Country. Last year the album spawned the Double Platinum #1 single “God’s Country.”
This breaks the three-way tie for third most number one singles on the all-time list for most #1 singles on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. Blake sits one above George Strait and Alan Jackson who each has 26 number ones on the chart. He only trails Tim McGraw by two chart toppers on the list and Kenny Chesney by by three.
Congratulations to Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani on the #1 single “Nobody But You.”
