Country music fans are getting to know Gabby Barrett, a new female singer-songwriter.
If you are a fan of American Idol you already know more about Gabby than most. She was the third place finisher on the show for season 16 in 2018. Not bad for an 18-year-old at the time. Gabby will turn 20 on March 5th of this year. She is one of eight children born in Munhall, Pennsylvania (just outside Pittsburgh).
Gabby began singing at the age of nine in her local gospel choir. At age 11 she started playing shows. She performed 136 shows in 2017 before joining the cast on American Idol the following year.
Since American Idol she has shared the stage with superstars like Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Toby, Keith, Keith Urban, Cole Swindell and Bebe Rexha just to name a few.
Gabby has released her official debut single “I Hope” which she co-wrote with Jon Nite and Zachary Kale. In the video below she explains the origins of the song.

Central Illinois residents may recall that Gabby played the Grandstand at the McLean County Fair last year (8/1/19).
Gabby is currently in the studio working on her debut full-length album with GRAMMY-nominated producer Ross Copperman.
