Last night (11/10) was the live results episode for the Semi-Finals on season 17 of The Voice.
The Top 8 included two Team Blake artists, three on Team Legend, one on Team Gwen and two on Team Kelly. By the end of the show the eight would become four meaning Blake Shelton (or any of the coaches) could be out of the season finale altogether.
Last nights live show began will Blake singling his latest single “Hell Right” with Trace Adkins.
There were other performances that you can watch on The Voice YouTube channel here. Between those performances we found out the three artists automatically advancing to the finals based on the most votes. They were Katie Kaden (Team Legend), Jake Hoot (Team Kelly) and Ricky Duran (Team Blake).
Next we found out which three of the remaining five artists would get to sing for the “Instant Save” and fourth spot in the finals. Those three artists were Hello Sunday (Team Kelly), Kat Hammock (Team Blake) and Rose Short (Team Gwen). That meant Team Legend’s Will Breman and Marybeth Byrd were both eliminated from the competition.
Hello Sunday performed Sia’s “Chandelier.”
Kat Hammock chose “You’ve Got A Friend” by James Taylor for her performance.
Rose Short chose to sing Aretha Franklin’s “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.”
As the show was ending we found out which of the three won the “Instant Save” to be the fourth artist in the finals next week.
Rose takes the last spot in the finals while Kat and Hello Sunday are eliminated from the competition. See more from last night’s episode at the official website of The Voice here.
Each coach has a single artist in the finals with a chance to win the competition. This is the first time since season 10 that all four coaches are being represented in the finals. That also occurred in seasons one and two of the competition.
The four remaining artists will perform live Monday night, December 16th and hope to earn enough votes to be crowned the winner of The Voice Season 17 on the season finale Tuesday, December 17th.
