The live dances in the Semi-Finals took place on season 28 of Dancing with the Stars last night (11/18).
The five remaining couples performed two dances during the week 10 episode of the show. They danced one dance they had previously done on the show that the judges felt was their weakest performance to date. They then did a brand new routine for the season.
Lauren Alaina and professional dancing partner Gleb Savchenko had the chance to redeem their dance of the Paso Doble from earlier in the competition.
The judges gave them a combined score of 27 out of 30 points possible for this dance.
For their second dance Lauren and Gleb chose the Viennese Waltz.
This dance scored 27 out of 30 possible points from the judges just like their first dance. The two-dance score was 54 out of 60 points possible for the night.
Last week Lauren and Gleb were in the bottom two and faced elimination, but was saved by the judges. This week they were not in the bottom two and did not face elimination.
The bottom two this week were Ally Brooke & professional dancer Sasha and James Van Der Beek & professional dancer Emma.
James and Emma were eliminated from the competition after the judges voted. You can get a complete recap for the season 28 semi-finals at the official website of Dancing with the Stars here.
Lauren and Gleb will be part of the Dancing with the Stars Season 28 Finals next week. They along with the other three remaining couples will dance starting at 7 PM central time (8 PM eastern time) on ABC to find out who will take home the Mirror Ball Trophy for this season.
As close as the judges’ scores have been, Lauren may need all the country music fans to help her claim the win.
