Miranda Lambert dropped her new album Wildcard today (11/1) and the singer-songwriter says she has brought back the “sassiness.”
Feedback about Miranda’s last album was it was missing the “sass” that people had grown to love about her.
“When doing ‘The Weight of These Wings,’ a lot of the feedback was, you know, it was the singer-songwriter kind of venture, and I take pride in that. I didn’t lose my sassiness, I just kind of didn’t put it at the forefront on that record.” Miranda says.
With Wildcard she says she brought the sass back for all to hear.
“This record, I feel like definitely, there’s … you know, whatever the people are like, ‘We want a Miranda song,’ whatever that means … and now I feel like, OK, whatever that means, it’s on this record,” Miranda shares with a laugh.
Even Miranda feels like this album has a sound that goes back to her early career and her second studio album.
“This record reminds me more of ‘Kerosene’ than any record I’ve done in between because I kind of approached it with the same energy and open mindedness. And so I think having a new producer … and just having a new face in my life … and spending time in New York City and getting happy … all of those played a factor in the game of this record and the sound of it,” Miranda admits.
The debut single from the album “It All Comes Out In The Wash” is top 15 on the singles charts for country radio airplay this week. You can’t deny the single has that “Miranda Sass” in it.
Listen for “It All Comes Out In The Wash” by Miranda Lambert on Bloomington-Normal’s #1 Country, B104.
Wildcard is available digitally and in music stores everywhere now.
