Singer-songwriter Carly Pearce has a place she really loves to go when she is not out on the road … the grocery store!
Carly and fellow country music star Michael Ray were married last December. The newlywed says going grocery shopping allows the couple to know what goes into their meals.
“I’m a big healthy eater and so is Michael. And so I think that, alone… we just really prioritize, not really foodie stuff, but just eating right.”
Carly shares that she prefers going to the store in person to shop, not doing it online for delivery.
“The grocery store just humanizes me on a level that I don’t know how to put into words. It’s like therapeutic for me to just get a cart. I don’t like all the apps where you can have them delivered to your house. I want to go, I like the act of going.”
Since she spends so much time touring (like she is now on her own headlining tour), going to the grocery store when she is home allows Carly to feel like she’s living a bit of a normal life. When they are both home she and husband Michael Ray enjoy grocery shopping together.
Carly is bringing her headlining tour here to Bloomington-Normal at the Castle Theater Thursday, November 21st. Get concert and ticket details here.
