Week two of the Battle Rounds started on season 17 of The Voice last night (10/21). Blake Shelton has some tough decisions to make for Team Blake.
Late last week The Voice shared the video of 37-year-old Marina Chello and 29-year-old Ricky Duran performing “Valerie” by The Zutons and covered by Mark Ronson featuring Amy Winehouse. The Battle Rounds performance was pretty equal by my view leaving Blake with a very difficult decision. This video below does not show the choice made following the performance.
Blake awarded the win to Ricky. However, it was not the end of the road for Marina. Gwen Stefani pressed her button to “Steal” Marina and Blake pressed his button to “Save” her. Marina made the decision to remain on Team Blake.
Blake paired 15-year-old Joana Martinez and 21-year-old Matthew McQueen for the Battle Rounds. The two performed “High Hopes” by Panic at the Disco. It was a tough song for the two young singers to perform, but they did it well and looked like they had fun in the process.
Blake chose to move forward with Joana remaining on Team Blake.
You can see what artists remain on the other teams after last night’s Battle Rounds performances at the official website of The Voice here.
The Battle Rounds continue tonight on The Voice Season 17 starting at 7 PM central time (8 Pm eastern time) on NBC.
