Lauren Alaina dedicated her dance this week to her late stepfather, Sam, and the song she used was one she wrote for him.

The song titled “The Other Side” was written to honor the man who raised the singer-songwriter. The dance was performed on the one-year anniversary of Sam’s passing. Lauren and her professional dancing partner Gleb Savchenko danced the Contemporary for week six on Dancing With The Stars.

The judges gave Lauren and Gleb a combined score of 26 out of 30 possible. Adding that to last week’s score they had 49 out of a possible 60 and were not in the bottom two. That means they were safe from elimination.
