Central Illinois DIRECTV customers can once again watch CBS TV programming!
Customers of the satellite TV company lost the CBS channels and viewing platforms earlier this summer when the two companies could not agree on a contract. Earlier in August AT&T/DIRECTV and CBS Corp. came to an agreement that returned the programming to stations owned by CBS Corporation.
However, CBS affiliate stations owned by Nexstar Media did not return to the DIRECTV’s platforms as those two companies remained in disagreement. Those 97 TV stations included WCIA (Champaign, IL), WMBD (Peoria, IL) and WCIX (Springfield, IL) leaving central Illinois without CBS TV programming.
Yesterday evening (8/29) it was announced that the two companies had reached an agreement. You can see the press release from Nexstar’s Facebook page at the bottom of the page.
I checked at home to see if the station was available as I am a DIRECTV customer. It was there! Amazing that the two two companies came to an agreement just weeks before the new fall programming is set to premiere.
