Dale Jr., Amy (his wife) and their baby daughter Isla were on board a private plane last week heading to Bristol, Tennessee for the weekend’s NASCAR race. Something happened that caused the plane to crash. Everybody on the plane including the two pilots all survived the incident. Due to the incident the retired NASCAR driver turn broadcaster took the weekend off from the race.
Late yesterday Dale Jr. released a statement via social media for the first time publicly since the accident. He shared that nobody on board the plane were seriously injured including their dog who came along for the trip.
He also thanks everybody for their well wishes and prayers. Dale Jr. also gives thanks to the first responders and the great job they and the pilots did to keep this accident from being a total tragedy. He states that he and Amt feel “blessed” and is appreciative of the privacy that has been given to them as they deal with the aftereffects of being in the accident.
