In fact, he led nearly all the laps in stage one. However, near the end of the stage Joey Logano was able to get out front to win the stage.
Martin Truex Jr. worked his way forward through the first half of the race until he took the lead and won stage two. Martin was one of 11 drivers to lead the race and challenged Chase’s lap leading total remaining out front for 132 total laps in the race. The most important lap was the final lap allowing Martin to claim his second win of the 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season and his third cup series win on the Monster Mile.
