Jay DeMarcus just released his new memoir and reveals a heartbreaking story from his past that he has a daughter he put up for adoption.
We all know Jay DeMarcus as the bass player and singer for Rascal Flatts, now he is a settled down family man, but in one of the most difficult moments of his life he placed a baby girl up for adoption.
It’s a story he shares for the first time in his new memoir “Shotgun Angels: My story of Broken Roads and Unshakeable Hope.” He and his then girlfriend Maggie were in their early 20s when she got pregnant, she decided she didn’t want to have a baby, and even though Jay wanted to be a part of his daughters life, and his mom offered to adopt the baby girl, Maggie decided to move forward with an outside adoption that didn’t include him.
Jay reveals he never even got to meet his baby girl, although he thinks of her often and wonders if she knows who he is. His daughter is now in her 20s.
