Local military hero U.S. Army Sergeant Joshua Rodgers will be honored in Uptown Normal tomorrow (4/25).
Joshua was killed in action while on deployment in Afghanistan two years ago. The U.S. Post Office in Uptown Normal will be renamed to honor his sacrifice.
Vonda, Joshua’s mother, said in a recent interview on our sister station WJBC, “I cannot believe it and it’s absolutely unreal that when people say they need to go to the post office they are going to the Sgt. Joshua Rodgers Post Office.”
The renaming ceremony will take place Thursday (April 25th) at 10 AM at the corner of Broadway Avenue and North Street. I encourage all that can attend to go to help honor this local hero.
