Last night (4/9) was the final night of the Battle Rounds on season 16 of The Voice. What choices did Blake Shelton make for Team Blake preparing for the NEW round of competition, the Cross Battles?

Blake had two remaining pairings that Brooks & Dunn helped prepare the artists for as the Team Blake advisors. One of those pairings was Carter Lloyd Horne and LiLi Joy. We did not see this entire battle as it was part of a short montage clip. We did find out that Blake chose to keep Carter Llloyd on Team Blake moving forward.

The other Team Blake pairing was Cecily Hennigan and Selkii. Blake gave the ladies the Avril Lavigne song “Head Above Water” for their performance.

Blake chose Selki to remain in the competition on Team Blake for the next round.

John Legend’s final pairing in the Battle Round was Kayslin Victoria and Oliv Blu. The two artists performed the song “Location” by Khalid.

John kept Kayslin on his team giving Blake the chance to use the final steal of the round to bring Oliv Blu to Team Blake. See where all of the teams stand after the season 16 Battle Rounds at the official website of The Voice here.

There is always a new twist to the competition with each new season. The season 16 twist for The Voice is a pretty big one. It is a whole new round of competition … the Cross Battles!

In this new round of competition the artists will battle head-to-head against an artist from another team. Each coach will have one save and one steal in this round. The rest of the results will be chosen by America’s votes.

I am very interested in seeing how this new round plays out and ultimately affects the rest of the competition after the round in complete. The Cross Battles begin Monday, April 15th starting at 7 PM central time (8 PM eastern time) on NBC.
