Blake Shelton will release a new song called “God’s Country” Friday, March 29th. The song is from a forthcoming project from the country music superstar.
“God’s Country’ is simply a song about a state of mind, and wherever you’re from and how you feel about that place,” Blake says. “For me it is about being from the Midwest or the West – whatever you call Oklahoma. That’s where I was born and raised that’s where I still live, and those are the images I have in my mind when I’m singing this song. And that’s where I was born and that’s where I want to die.”
The song was written by Michael Hardy, Jordan Schmidt and Devin Dawson.

Right outside of this one church town
There’s a gold dirt road to a whole lotta nothing
Got a deed to the land but it ain’t my ground
This is God’s country pic.twitter.com/0BoIWou6R9— Blake Shelton (@blakeshelton) March 26, 2019
We pray for rain and thank him when it’s falling
’Cause it brings the grain and a little bit of money
We put it back in the plate, I guess it’s why they call it
