We are seeing quite a lot of country in the early season of American Idol, and 15 year old Austin Michael took it one step further when he came out with a lasso in hand on Sunday’s episode.

Austin struck a country vibe with Luke when he performed Josh Turner’s “Your Man” for his audition, and it didn’t hurt that he threw a little Luke Bryan hip swerve in their for good measure, but Katy Perry wasn’t sure if he was ready yet. That’s when Lionel Richie had to sweep in and tip the scales…in FAVOR of letting the young cowboy to advance to Hollywood.

Austin was SO excited he came back with a lasso, and Luke thought it would be a good idea to put Austin on his shoulders while he tried to lasso Katy Perry!
