One of the biggest cartoons of all time is heading to the big screen after nearly five years of struggle. It was announced Wednesday that an English speaking ‘Hello Kitty’ movie is in development according to Bloomberg.

The kid friendly, cartoon cat, which has been around since the mid 1970’s, has apparently been caught up in a rights battle which explains why a feature length movie is only happening now.

There is no news as to when we can expect the movie but you can probably assume 2021 or 2022 is when it will hit theaters.
