If you’ve wondered what life is like for Sully H.W. Bush these day, I know I have, it seems as though Sully has gone and gotten himself a new job!
The picture of President George H.W. Bush’s service dog, Sully, lying in front of his casket was one of the most heartbreaking things I’ve seen. It was viewed millions of times, and he won the hearts of all of us for his loyalty to the former President.
Sully has received a new assignment at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. Sully joined a team of other dogs who will provide comfort to veterans and their families. And of course, to make it official, Sully had to take on Oath.
The oath began: “Sully H.W. Bush, do you affirm — or pant — as a hospital corpsman in the United States Navy that you will support, comfort and cheer our warriors and their families, active duty and retired?”
During the oath, Sully was asked to provide “unconditional love and solace, especially on busy days,” and acknowledge that the responsibility came “without any promise of treats or tummy rubs.”
Congratulations Sully H. W. Bush!
