Sad news for Lauren Alaina as she and her fiance Alex Hopkins have called off their engagement. They made the announcement via their social media pages.

It’s always sad when a relationship doesn’t work out. Lauren and Alex had been together for 6 years, he was with her during her time on The Voice, and even before that. They seemed to be over the moon when they got engaged in July of 2018, and I’m sure this wasn’t an easy decision for them to make. It’s possible that her quickly rising career didn’t always make things easy for them.

In a joint statement, the couple explained that the difficult decision came as a result of their individual growth and change over the last six years.

Earlier in January Lauren announced she was taking a social media break. This was the first time she has posted since then.

I’m sure it wasn’t an easy decision for either of them, and I hope they are able to heal their hearts and stay close.
