Does anyone actually pay for their own Netflix subscription anymore? How many of your friends and family members know your password and and freely (literally) binge-watch “Stranger Things”, “OITNB”, or the hott new Lonely Boy, Dan Humphries stalker show “YOU”!
Chances are either you have an account that everyone uses, or you use someone else’s account. Hey, it’s what we do. BUT, maybe not for much longer.
Netflix is starting to realize just how much money they are actually missing out on by all of this subscription sharing, and it’s becoming too expensive to ignore. So, thanks to a new software that is being unveiled, they are going to crack down on those of us who may be sharing our account information. But they aren’t going to crack down too hard. They are going to ask you to essentially “upgrade” your account which will ask you to pay an additional fee for a premium, shared service with a greater number of concurrent users.
So, the police aren’t going to show up at your door, no, but Netflix is hoping the new software will help keep people honest. We shall see.
Do you pay for your own Netflix account? Or use someone else’s?
