The country music trio Midland is already celebrating the 2018 CMA Awards even though they haven’t even happened yet.
The trio was formed in 2016 and includes members Mark Wystrach (lead vocals), Cameron Duddy (bass guitar, background vocals), and Jess Carson (lead guitar, background vocals). In the two years that Midland has been making music together they have released three singles “Drinkin’ Problem,” “Make A Little” and their current single “Burn Out.”
All three songs can be found on the trio’s debut studio album On The Rocks available everywhere now. The album made it to #2 on the Billboard Country Album sales chart.
It is that relatively short time the trio has been around that has them excited about their three CMA Awards nominations. They are up for New Artist of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year and Single of the Year for their debut single “Drinkin’ Problem.” The debut single peaked at #3 on the Billboard Country Airplay singles chart.
“It’s just been a celebration for us,” front man Mark Wystrach shares about celebrating the CMA Awards nominations. “We’ve been running at a million miles an hour and it’s just surreal. It’s hard to process it. Where we started and where we’ve come from to this stage is remarkable and we’re just really having the time of our lives.”
With that in mind, win or not next week you can bet that Midland will be having a blast next week at the awards show. To add to their experience the trio will be performing on the show as a bonus for them.
The 52nd CMA Awards Show will be co-hosted for the 11th consecutive year by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood. The show will air live from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville Wednesday, November 14th at 7 p.m. central time (8 p.m. eastern time) on ABC.
