Last night (10/17) the Battle Rounds continued on season 15 of The Voice. Who did Blake Shelton pair up and who did he keep on Team Blake?
The episode was just one-hour. However, they got quite a few battles in that short time. The show got so many battles in by not showing as much of every battle and coaches comments afterward. That will move us through the pre-recorded parts of the season faster and get us to the live shows sooner. I think presenting these rounds in this way works well.
Blake paired 19-year-old Rachel Messer with the last artist he added to Team Blake in the Blind Auditions 29-year-old Katrina Cain. The song the two ladies were given to perform was Sarah McLachlan’s “Angel.”
Blake chose to keep Katrina on Team Blake moving forward.
The next pairing for Team Blake was Mercedes Ferreira Dias (the 17-year-old who didn’t turn any chairs during season 14) and 27-year-old Chris Kroeze. They two put their talents to work with the song “Back in the High Life Again” by Steve Winwood.
Blake the tough choice of keeping Chris on the show. Mercedes did a great job. I don’t know if she can or will come back again and maybe make it even farther in the competition next time.
