Last night (10/8) the Blind Auditions continued on season 15 of The Voice. Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson all started the episode with seven members on each of their teams.
35-year-old Joey Green put his personal touch on The Who’s “Baba O’Riley.” The performance has Jennifer thinking about pressing from the start. She finally decided to press near the end with Blake hitting his button a split second later. The two music stars gave their reasons for Joey to join their respective teams. It didn’t take long for Blake to find a connection with Joey.
Joey did choose Blake as his coach and joined Team Blake.
Kayley Hill sang “Gold Dust Woman” by Fleetwood Mac for her Blind Audition. While Kelly and Jennifer both talked extensively with the 28-year-old after her performance, Blake was the only one to press his button so Kayley become a member of Team Blake.
Sam Robbins performed the classic Jim Croce hit song “Time In A Bottle.” His performance just missed getting one of the chairs to turn during his Blind Audition. However, his performance did not miss getting Kelsea Ballerini to choose to make him one of the online feature’s “Comeback Stage” artists.
The episode’s last hopeful was 22-year-old Kirk Jay. Kirk put his unique voice to work on the Rascal Flatts song “Bless The Broken Road.” The performance motivated Adam and Blake to turn their chairs early. Kelly and Jennifer pressed their buttons with just seconds left in the performance. The coaches were not sure what path musically Kirk preferred until he was asked and responded with “I’m country ’til the day I die.” Of course that put Blake out front as the most likely choice that Kirk would make. Kelly fought hard to get him to choose her, but Adam decided to make his opinion be known that he felt like Blake’s team is where the four-chair turn artist should go.
With Jennifer asking Kirk which coach he was choosing and adding “Hurry up before she start talking again” while pointing toward Kelly, he made that choice most knew he would. Kirk became a member of Team Blake with Blake Shelton as his coach.
Blake and Jennifer added three artists each to their teams to bring their totals to 10 each. Adam and Kelly were able to end with two new artists each bringing their respective team totals to nine each.
The coaches will again try to fill their teams for The Voice Season 15 when the Blind Auditions continue tonight (10/9) at 7:00 PM central time (8:00 PM eastern time) on NBC.
