Luke Bryan has achieved a lot of career milestones, but Dustin Lynch will reach one tonight that has so far eluded Luke … induction as a member of the Grand Ole Opry.
Luke has racked up Gold and Platinum albums and singles over his career. He has won awards from the CMAs, ACMs, CMTs, AMAs and more including: Entertainer of the Year, Male Artist of the Year as well as awards for his collaboration, videos and more.
Luke is a Guest Artist for the Grand Ole Opry, but he has yet to be invited to join the family of Grand Ole Opry members. Tonight (9/18) Luke’s friend and fellow country music star will be inducted as the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry family.
Luke was recently asked about his friend Dustin getting invited to join the Grand Ole Opry as a member.
“I don’t think I was Dustin’s first call [after he was invited to join the Opry], but I congratulated Dustin,” Luke shared. “I mean, these are hardworking guys out there that are … you know, when they get these Opry nods it changes their life.”
Luke then commented indirectly about not being a member of the Grand Ole Opry yet himself.
“I’ve got to put in some good word with them, maybe I can be a member one day,” he stated.
Luke is very aware of what the long-time country music organization does for the genre.
“What they do for country music is amazing,” he says.
He then indicated that he may make more of an effort to get that “Opry nod” himself.
“You know, me and my managers sit down and I’m like, ‘I’ve got to get my butt out to the Opry and play more’,” Luke admits, “So, Opry, save me some dates I’m comin’.”
Some of the biggest names in country music are among the members of the GrandOle Opry family including: Reba (member since 1986), Garth Brooks (member since 1990), Martina McBride (member since 1995), Brad Paisley (member since 2001), Dierks Bentley (member since 2005), Carrie Underwood (member since 2008), Blake Shelton (member since 2010), Keith Urban (member since 2012), Darius Rucker (member since 2012), Little Big Town (member since 2014), Chris Young (member since 2017) and many more. Dustin Lynch will add the phrase “member since 2018” to his name tonight.
Check out who all are members of the Grand Ole Opry and who are Guest Artists here.
Congratulations to Dustin Lynch on the honor and career milestone tonight at the Grand Ole Opry.
