Time Magazine named the 31 People Who Are Changing the South and they included Kane Brown on the list.
The country music singer-songwriter has seen his star rise quickly over the past year. He has scored two number one songs (“What Ifs” featuring Lauren Alaina and “Heaven“) that are both from his self-titled, Platinum album available everywhere now.
Kane’s current single “Lose It” from a forthcoming new album and is climbing the charts at #28 and climbing on both the Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase/Country Aircheck singles charts for country radio airplay.
The Time Magazine article quotes Kane as calling himself a “biracial singer in a genre dominated by white stars.” The article praises him as he “has bucked norms at every step of his journey.”
How does this credit for helping change the south hit Kane?
“What it means for me to be able to represent the South, it’s just an awesome feeling because there’s so many different artists that are super talented and it’s just awesome that they chose me,” he shares.
According to the obviously humble singer-songwriter a lot of the credit for the recognition goes to his fans.
“You know, I’m just very excited because Time Magazine is huge. And, it’s awesome to be a part of it and actually be in it,” Kane confesses. “We’ve just been having a fun year and my fans have been killing it for me and I think they really helped me get recognized.”
Keep doing what you do Kane and your star will keep rising and the recognition will continue to roll your way.
