Country music singer-songwriter Chris Lane is happy to see his longtime hero Chipper Jones being inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. He even has a special connection with the baseball legend.

Talking about the honor that Chipper will receive Chris said,

“Man, he was always a great player, I mean, um … I never wore Chipper’s number or anything like that, but obviously he was one of my favorite players. Yeah, I’ve always been a fan of his and that’s awesome that he’s being inducted into the [Baseball] Hall of Fame. Well deserved.”

Chris was a part of an earlier celebration for the legendary Atlanta Braves player.

“Randomly, this is a random show I had back in the day before I was even signed. I ended up getting to play his jersey retirement night at the Atlanta Braves stadium. I got to go out and play three songs acoustic … Uh, [it was a] really cool memory I have from that.”

Chipper along with Vladimir Guerrero, Trevor Hoffman, Jack Morris, Jim Thome and Alan Trammell will be inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York Sunday (7/29) at 12:30 PM central time (1:30 PM eastern time).

Chris is working on his own entry into a hall of fame … the one for country music. However, it will be many years before we find out if he makes it in. He is doing his part to acquire the stats for induction though.

He’s just released his third studio album Laps Around The Sun, available everywhere now.

He’s scored a #1 song “Fix.”

His latest single “Take Back Home Girl” featuring Tori Kelly is has become his second top 10 hit this week on the country radio airplay singles charts along with his preceding single song “For Her.”

“Take Back Home Girl” could become his second chart topper as it continues to climb the singles charts.

Congratulations to all of the 2018 National Baseball Hall of Fame inductees and good luck to Chris Lane on working towards someday getting into a hall of fame or two for his music.
