Kacey Musgraves just released a new music video where she takes us on a trip back to the 70s with her song “High Horse.”

The country music singer-songwriter says that the 70s are back.

“Disco is back … it is back full force in fashion and many ways,” Kacey states.

With that in mind Kacey explains the motivation behind the song.

“I kept imagining this world where all my cliché western loves met flashy disco,” she shares about the song. “Really it’s just so fun and I love the groove.”

So how does merging the world of Disco with country music make sense?

“I feel like if you would imagine, you know, like, ‘What would it sound like if Kacey made a disco song?’ I feel like that’s what it would sound like. It kind of makes sense in that way, I feel,” Kacey explains.

In the music video Kacey is working in a “9-To-5” 70s office environment and dreaming of escaping to a disco paradise.
