Singer-songwriter Morgan Wallen has been gaining attention for his collaboration with Florida Georgia Line. However, did you remember that he was on The Voice?

The year was 2014 and in February season six of the hit reality TV show competition premiered. One of the artists in the Blind Auditions was the then 20-year-old from Sneedville, TN (he says Knoxville in the clip because that is the biggest city near where he was from that people would recognize). The biography clip that aired before his audition revealed that music was not his first passion in life. You can watch that Morgan Wallen video from The Voice, including his Blind Audition below.

After joining Team Usher Morgan lost in his head-to-head competition in the second Battle Rounds performance. But, his time on the show did not end there as Adam Levine stole him to Team Adam. Unfortunately Morgan was eliminated from the show during the Live Playoffs.

Since then Morgan has been pursuing his dream of being a singer-songwriter and reaching that goal. He was signed to Big Loud records 2016. He has become friends with Tyler Hubbard and Brian Kelley of Florida Georgia Line and recorded a collaboration with them that is his current single “Up Down.” That friendship means a lot to Morgan as you can hear him explain in a recent #JustAMinute posted below.

“Up Down” is in the top 10 on the country radio airplay singles charts and still climbing. The song is from Moragn’s debut studio album If I Know Me, available everywhere now.

Morgan Wallen is a good example that even if one of the artists doesn’t win The Voice (or any competition like that), they can still achieve their dreams by using that exposure along with hard work and dedication to equal success.
