Pop singer-songwriter Bebe Rexha has scored her first #1 single on the country singles charts with “Meant To Be,” her collaboration with Florida Georgia Line.
Bebe has 12 singles, eight of which have been collaborations with other artists. None of the songs has reached the top spot on the singles charts until this week.
The advanced Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase/Country Aircheck singles charts have been released and “Meant To Be” is in the number one spot on both charts for country radio airplay.
That gives Bebe not only her first ever COUNTRY #1 one, but her first career chart topper in any genre. The song marks the 14th career #1 one for Florida Georgia Line.
Bebe explains the journey for this song and why she believes fans are connecting with it, “Here I am this girl that grows up in the pop world, and I write a song with Florida Georgia Line and it’s one of the biggest songs I’ve put out in my life. And I think it’s just a record that was honest and true. And I think that people really connected with it on a deeper level.”
She also understands it is not a small thing that the country music family let her in, “To me it’s saying that they’re willing to allow me in because they really respect those songs. And that’s the most important thing for me, more than anything, is for people to respect my music and my songwriting more than anything.”
“Meant To Be” can be found on Bebe Rexha’s six-song EP All Your Fault: Pt. 2.
Congratulations to Bebe Rexha on her first and Florida Georgia Line on their 14th #1 with “Meant To Be.”
