Last night (4/2) was the start of the Knockout Rounds on season 14 of The Voice. Here is a recap of what happened with Blake Shelton and Team Blake.

To begin with, there is a new twist for season 14 as they have added for each coach a “Save” during the Knockout Rounds. Once a coach has decided the winner of the battle in this round he or she can push their button to save the other artists from elimination and keep them on their team. However, the other coaches can still press their buttons in an attempt to steal that artist for their own team. The artist then gets to decide if they want to stay on the team they are on or move to another coach’s team.

Blake’s first pairing for the Knockout Rounds was Jaclyn Lovey (stolen from Team Alicia during the Battle Rounds) and Kyla Jade.

Jaclyn chose to sing the song “Put Your Records On” by Corinne Bailey Rae.

Kyla picked Lesley Gore’s “You Don’t Own Me” for her performance.

Blake made the choice to advance Kyla Jade to the Live Playoffs on Team Blake.

The Next Team Blake pairing was Austin Giorgio with Spensha Baker.

Austin held true to his old-school crooner style choosing to sing “Almost Like Being in Love” by Nat King Cole.

Spensha took on a tough challenge as she chose to sing Chris Stapleton‘s #1 song “Broken Halos.”

Both artists did a good job at displaying their respective styles and talents leaving Blake Shelton with a difficult decision. It was one he really didn’t want to make so he basically didn’t. Blake named Spensha the winner and then pressed his button to “Save” Austin. With no other coaches trying to steal Austin, both he and Spensha move forward on Team Blake.

The Knockout Rounds continue tonight (4/3) on The Voice Season 14 at 7 PM central time (8 PM eastern time) on NBC.
