Lauren Alaina and Trent Harmon have been contestants on American Idol and expect new judge Luke Bryan to well on the show’s re-boot that premieres this Sunday.
Luke will join new judges Lionel Richie and Katy Perry with show host Ryan Seacrest for the new version of the reality singing competition.
Lauren (pictured at top of page on left) was the runner-up on season 10 of the show. She also considers the new judge and country music superstar a personal friend.
“He’s been a big brother to me and been really, really good to me,” she shares, “He was my very first tour off of ‘Idol’ so I’m excited.”
How does she think he will do as a judge? “I think he’ll do really, really well with it,” Lauren says, “he’s kind and honest and he’s Luke Bryan.”
Scotty McCreery was the winner of season 10 on American Idol, the same season as Lauren. He will be a mentor on the show’s re-boot. He has already recorded his part on the show with the contestants for the portion before the show goes live.
Scotty says of the new version of the show, “The contestants were cool, great voices, and seem like they have great heads on their shoulders. It should be a good year.”
Trent (pictured at top of page on right) was the winner of season 15 of American Idol, what was supposed to be the final season for the show until the re-boot was organized on a new network.
His expectations for Luke on the show are good, “I think Luke is gonna be the dark horse … [He’s] gonna probably end up being the best judge on the panel that nobody sees coming,” Trent shares.
“I don’t know what they anticipate from Luke,” Trent explains, “but I think he’s gonna represent not just country, but music in general really well.”
We will all get to see how Luke does as a judge on American Idol when it premieres this Sunday, March 11th at 8/7 central on ABC TV.
