One week later Kevin continued the driving lessons for the rest of the teams competing in yesterday’s (3/4) Pennzoil 400 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
The race had just four yellow flags, two of which were at the end of stages one and two of the race which Kevin won. Six drivers exchanged the lead 11 times.
However, the one driver that everybody was chasing from the green flag to the checkered flag was Kevin. He had his #4 Jimmy John’s Ford at the front of the field and leading the way for 214 of the 267 laps in the race. It seemed that about the only time Kevin wasn’t leading the race was when he was on pit row getting tires and fuel and other cars remained on the track just to be able they led during the race.
Kevin claimed his second win in two weeks with relative ease. Kyle Busch brought home a second place finish with Kyle Larson claiming third. Defending NASCAR Cup Series Champion Martin Truex Jr. finished fourth and the race’s pole winner Ryan Blaney rounded out the top five. Winning every stage of the race gave Kevin Harvick enough points to move to the lead in the point standings. Joey Logano slips back to second place with Ryan Blaney just behind in third place. Martin Truex Jr. holds fourth place with Kyle Busch in fifth. See the complete Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series point standings here.
