Cole Swindell is releasing a new single and he knows that for some people it might be hard to listen to.
Cole’s new song is titled “Break Up In The End” and it is the debut single from his forthcoming third studio album.
The song navigates the pain of a relationship that is unsuccessful in the end. The song could bring up old feelings of pain when you hear it and Cole says, “Some people, if they hear it, they can’t listen to it.”
Country music has that tradition of being real and being the soundtrack of life … both good and bad. “I’m the one who turns it up,” Cole admits of songs that might bring back not so happy feelings, “because that’s how music’s always been for me.”
When you think about it, some of the biggest country songs of all time have been about pain … “He Stopped Loving Her Today,” “The Dance” and “I’m No Stranger To The Rain” just to name a few. That ability to relate to the songs could be what makes the songs last the test of time.
“I don’t know, it just lets me know I’m not alone,” Cole explains of why he likes this kind of song, “Like, there’s other people that you think are invincible that feel just like that.”
You can bet we will get to hear Cole sing his new song live when he comes to Grossinger Motors Arena here in Bloomington, IL Saturday, March 17th for his “Reason To Drink Tour” with special guests Chris Janson and Lauren Aliana. Get concert and ticket details here.
