Country Stars Give Valentine’s Day Advice

Happy Valentine's Day

Brett Eldredge, Dan + Shay, Lauren Alaina and Chris Janson share some advice and thoughts for Valentine’s Day.

Brett Eldredge believes that giving something from the heart is better than getting carried away with things you can buy.

“You can go a little over the top sometimes, you know, like fill a room with a bajillion flowers and all that stuff. It’s just like, be romantic, but be romantic in a place of like spending time with that person. I’m not saying don’t give them roses or something, [but] just don’t go over the top and fly an airplane that says ‘I love you’ or something, you know.”

Shay Mooney of the duo Dan + Shay cautions guys that are in a new relationship this Valentine’s Day to not set the bar too high right out of the box for future Valentine’s Days.

“Every Valentine’s Day is always a lot of pressure for every guy. So, you gotta be strategic. Any guys out there, you’re starting a new relationship you gotta start small, get like roses the first year. You can’t go all out … not even roses, maybe like a handwritten note [laughs].”

From the female perspective, Lauren Alaina appears to agree with the idea that something from the heart is better than something from a store as she raves about her own boyfriend Alex and his choices for Valentine’s Day.

“He’s really sweet. He looks manly, but don’t let it fool you because he like makes my gifts. He made me the shape of Tennessee and put strings all the way to this heart around Nashville [sigh]. I know, he’s so cute. I love him.”

Then there is Chris Janson, he doesn’t really like Valentine’s Day because he likes to show his wife he loves her day in and day out.

“I love my wife every day of the year. I’m the kinda guy that would almost rather not get something for Valentine’s Day and get her a five karat diamond the next day just to prove a point. Like, I’m that way.”

I guess when you put all of this together you can say that the best advice is to be yourself and give something from the heart and you can’t go wrong.

Happy Valentine’s Day.
