Chris Young‘s latest single “Losing Sleep” is a 10-4 #1 song. What does that mean? Let me explain.
The advanced Billboard Country Airplay and Mediabase/Country Aircheck singles charts have been released with Chris sitting in the number one position on both charts with “Losing Sleep.”
“Losing Sleep” becomes Chris’ 10th career #1 song and his 4th consecutive chart topper, thus my statement that it is a “10-4 #1 song.”
Chris recently explained how this song is different, “because it does really start out with just a guitar, a loop and vocal, and it’s kind of like mid-tempo, and you’re like ‘OK, yeah, this is kind of laid-back,’ and the chorus is just kind of a punch in the face.”
“It’s an octave jump for me vocally, so it really stretches my vocal range,” Chris admits. “Dynamically it really stretches the band, and I think it’s just one of those extra hooks.”
Chris explains that what makes the song different is what he likes about it, “I love having as many things in a song that really pull you in as possible, and I think the difference between the verse and the chorus on this song is just another layer of something that makes you ‘oh, OK, I have to pay attention to this.'”
The previous three singles that got Chris to having his fourth consecutive chart topper are “I’m Comin’ Over,” “Think Of You” his collaboration with Cassadee Pope and “Sober Saturday Night” which featured Vince Gill on background vocals. Those were the three singles from his last and RIAA certified Gold album I’m Comin’ Over.
“Losing Sleep” is the debut single and title track from Chris Young’s latest #1 album available everywhere now.
Congratulations to Chris Young on his milestone 10th career and 4th consecutive #1 song “Losing Sleep.”
