Keith Urban and Kelsea Ballerini performed a cover of pop star Camila Cabello‘s song “Never Be The Same.”
Last Wednesday night (1/17) Keith did a pop-up show at Nashville’s Exit/In Club. He was there to announce his new album Graffiti U and his 58-city “Graffiti U World Tour” with special guest Kelsea Ballerini.
While the exact date the new album will drop was not revealed, Keith did say it would be coming out “soon I hope.” However, the cities and dates for the tour were revealed which includes a stop just down the road from here in Peoria, Illinois at the Peoria Civic Center on Friday, October 12th. Get the details here.
In addition to performing solo at the pop-up show, Keith brought out his opening act for the 2018 tour to perform a collaboration. Keith and Kelsea talked about how fun the tour would be. Keith said that he really liked the new song “Never Be The Same” and so he suggested Kelsea that she should perform the song with him. She agreed and they did it live for the first time at the Exit/In Club Wednesday night. You can watch it in the video at the top of the page.
How did the pop-star who recorded the song feel about the collaboration? Camila Cabello apparently heard about the performance, watched a video of it and was so excited about it that she posted a clip of the performance on her Twitter account with the message below…
OH MY GOD!!!! @KeithUrban AND @KelseaBallerini THIS. IS. MAGICAL. #NeverBeTheSame pic.twitter.com/Qt8rCUyMOT

With such positive feedback about the performance, perhaps this will be one of the collaborations that makes it on the set list for the tour.
