Brad Paisley was honored by St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Saturday night (1/13) for his ongoing support of the organization and their mission to save children.
St. Jude‘s mission is to treat and defeat childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Randy Owen of the legendary group Alabama was among the people that decades ago pioneered movement to band the country music industry together to help support that mission. The movement became Country Cares for St. Jude.
The country music artists and country radio stations across the nation (including B104) combine forces each year to do radiothons that raise millions of dollars for the research and treatments of the children that come to St. Jude every day for the hope of being cured and growing up.
Each year the Country Cares for St. Jude Seminar takes place in Memphis, Tennessee, the main hospital and research facility for St. Jude. Hundreds of staff members from country radio stations across the country gather to learn more about the hospital and their efforts to achieve their mission in preparation for the upcoming radiothons in their respective hometowns.
Saturday night in front of those attending the seminar St. Jude awarded Brad Paisley the “Randy Owen Angels Among Us Award.” The award is presented to Brad for his “exceptional and lasting contributions” to St. Jude and their mission. Previous honorees of this award include Darius Rucker and Big and Rich’s John Rich.
We can say “thank you” to Brad for his efforts for St. Jude and congratulations on the well-deserved honor when he is at Grossinger Motors Arena for his “Weekend Warrior World Tour” with special guests Dustin Lynch, Chase Bryant and Lindsey Ell Thursday, February 15th.
