Maren Morris has scored her first solo number one song with her latest single “I Could Use A Love Song.”
The advanced Billboard Country Airplay and the Mediabase/Country Aircheck singles charts reveal that Maren is in the top spot on both charts for this week.
The country music singer-songwriter notched her first #1 song as part of Thomas Rhett’s song “Craving You” in July of 2017.
“I Could Use A Love Song” gives Maren her first solo chart topper. The milestone comes AFTER she scored her first #1 album, Hero that includes he now number one single.
Maren co-wrote the song with Jimmy Robbins and Laura Veltz. She explains how this song and country music in general is about connecting, “I think the one resounding theme in country music has always been just the connection to the lyric and the fan. So that has never really shaken. I think it’s evolved in ways, but from the beginning of country music time it’s always been about the story of the song, and so I definitely pay respect to that with my music.”
Maren’s first number one single also comes AFTER she scored ACM and CMA wins as well as a Grammy Award for her song “My Church.” Her first #1 single is also nominated for a 2018 Grammy Award at the upcoming 60th Grammy Awards. We will find out if it will be Maren’s second Grammy win January 28th during the live broadcast of the awards show from Madison Square Garden in New York City on CBS.
Congratulations to Maren Morris on her #1 single “I Could Use A Love Song.”
