Rascal Flatts announced their 2018 “Back To Us Tour” with special guests Dan + Shay and Carly Pearce. The tour could be full of pranks with Dan + Shay already firing the first shot.

Earlier this week the headlining trio made the announcement with lead singer Gary LoVox being quoted as saying about the opening act of Dan + Shay, “… our friends Dan + Shay, who are some of the best guys around.”

It’s a good thing that Gary, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney of Rascal Flatts consider Shay Mooney and Dan Smyers of Dan + Shay “friends” because things have already begun to liven up and the tour hasn’t even started yet.

When asked about touring with the award winning megastars this year Shay said, “Those guys have obviously been a huge influence on us.” That is a good thing to say about your soon to be bosses.

However, Dan took it to a place only friends can go and get away with saying, “I’d say they’re like grandfathers to us.” Shay joined in laughing as he said, “That’s great, they’re like grandfathers to us.”

This could be the beginning of some epic tour pranks played between the two country acts during the 25 city tour.

Shay then said with all sincerity, “We love those guys and obviously, you know, we’ve taken a lot of inspiration. You know, we grew up listening to their music. I think that’s a perfect fit. So, I think this is the perfect timing, you know, for everything to happen, you know, putting out new music and being able to hop on that tour. And we’re gonna have a lot of good times and a lot of tequila [and] a lot of good nights.”
