Because of his schedule on The Voice, Blake Shelton is only able to do about 30 concerts a year on tour and he thinks that is his “sweet spot.”
Most country music artists do well over 100 concerts a year while some are on the road for more than 200 shows a year. Since becoming a part of the hit TV reality singing competition, Blake has only had the time to do a small fraction of the shows that most performers do. However, he says he likes it that way.
“I hope they’re not tired of me yet, you know,” Blake confesses when talking about doing concerts, “You can’t help but think that and I wouldn’t blame ’em it they are out there.”
Don’t misunderstand, the award winning country music singer-songwriter enjoys doing concerts. “I love my job. I love country music,” Blake proclaims. He then admits, “I love having a moment in it and I wanna keep touring, but not a lot though … I wanna do my thirty or so shows a year and call it good.”
Why is it Blake wants to do such a comparatively small mount of shows?
“I wanna still be excited about being on stage when I do it and I don’t wanna be feeling burnt-out about it,” he explains.
“I think I’ve found that’s me sweet spot there,” Blake elaborates, “it keeps it new and exciting and it makes me nervous a bit and that’s what I want.”
Blake returns for season 14 of The Voice in February. Next month is also when his “sweet spot” of tour dates begin with his 2018 “Country Music Freaks Tour” with special guests Trace Adkins, Brett Eldredge and Carly Pearce. Find out where those concerts will take place here.
